Quite a lot of work has gone into removing the clutter, meaning dado rail, three sets of phone cables, a pseudo-antique set of coat hooks, about twenty miscellaneous picture fixings and the quarter-round molding at the bottom of the skirting.
After that, we spent a week filling and sanding the damaged areas behind the dado rail, the intention being to get as flat a finish as we can manage over the maximum amount of wall area.
Having used up all the haf tins from decorating #2 we ditched the whole F&B thing (..."was the bathroom Ferret's Testicle or Wounded Liver?") and went Zoffany - lovely finish from the dead-flat, on top of 50/50 trade emulsion.
