guesthouse introduction

The guesthouse is located in the converted Victorian schoolhouse, dating from 1847, directly opposite the picturesque church in the Cambridgeshire village of Littleport, a few miles North of the beautiful city of Ely.

The property is a self-contained single-story house. The owner, a local Korean/British artist, lives next door with family.  When not in use as guesthouse the property forms part of the owner's gallery and studio space and so is furnished with artworks and traditional Korean furniture in addition to the usual facilities.

A quiet back garden is available for residents and there is parking space for one vehicle beside the property, a second space is available by arrangement. The property is wheelchair accessible via the front-door.

Littleport Facilities

We are two minutes from the village high street where you will find several small supermarkets and corner shops as well as fish'n'chips, Chinese, kebabs etc. an excellent Indian restaurant and Spanish cafe which we highly recommend for cooked breakfast!

The River Ouse is fifteen minute walk and the Swan On the River public house makes for a pleasant lazy afternoon.

Littleport is well served for transport links making it ideal as a holiday base from which to explore East Anglia and beyond.  The railway station (connections to London, Ely, Cambridge and all UK destinations) is a fifteen minute walk from the property and an hourly bus to Ely stops right outside the front door.

The city of Cambridge is a half-hour drive south on the A10 while heading north, King's Lynn and the beautiful North Norfolk coastline in about an hour.  The east coast is a longer drive but even Southwold is perfectly reachable for a day trip!
